We are in the process of making labels to be sewn into the caps our volunteers make.

This page is a guide for those that want to be a volunteer and help us make caps. We are looking to help people around the country not just in our area, so if you live in another state and still would like to help that is GREAT!!

We are just getting this project going and are in the process of incorporating and applying for our IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.

There are very few guidelines that we would like people to follow to help us. We don't want to put allot of rules and restrictions down and then cause people to just not think it is worth all the aggravation.

Criteria for the hats:

  • Must be hand made
  • Must be new
  • Preferably washable
  • Wool is ok but not preferred because some folk are allergic to animal fibers--plus wool yarns tend to be less soft
  • Any regular pattern can be used but check out the patterns on our website
  • One of our clothing tags needs to be affixed on the inside of each cap you make for our project.
    • You can request tags free of charge using our contact form. If you would like your name on the tag we will be glad to add it, please just let us know and allow a couple extra days so we can print them and get them out to you.
    • You can send up the complete cap and we will affix the tags to them and then distribute them. Again if you would like your name or a name of a crafting club please include it with the caps. Also please provide your contact information so if there is any questions we can contact you. Please do not worry we will not use your info for any mailing list or sell it to anyone.

If you have a pattern you would like to add to our site

We are going to be looking for yarn and supply donations. ***If you would like to help us but just do not have the means to obtain your own supplies please use the contact form and see if we have any extra supplies that can be sent to you free of charge.

***Please keep in mind that if you request supplies from us, all supplies need to be used for our project and we will send you enough supplies for a certain amount of caps. We will need the name of the office or persons you are going to distribute your caps to so we can update our book keeping records.

When requesting supplies please let us know which cap(s)from the patterns listed on our site you would like to make and the number of caps so we can gather the needed supplies.

Above all if you do not want to help us in our cause, please think about making a few caps and dropping them off at a local hospice or oncology office.

We encourage you to send us any patterns you would like to share. We can share them on our website or provide them to knitting groups who request new pattern ideas.
